Dry July
Just sneaking it in on time… 2 things for me this week…
1. The Learning Pit
I saw this cool pic on LinkedIn and thought I’d share it with you. We’ve spoken a lot on recent weeks and months about Growth Mindset, and the curve below (similar to the org change curve feat. the pit of despair) shows the common path nicely.
2. Dry July
As July kicks off and in the interests of wellbeing I draw your attention to Dry July. Many people know about and participate in Dry July for different reasons, but it’s an opportunity to raise money for people affected by cancer. I’d encourage you to share this with your networks and it might be an initiative that you get on board together within your teams or friends. At the same time as raising money for others its also an opportunity to abstain from alcohol for a month if that’s something that interests you and some of the potential benefits are indicated below, along with some more details about Dry July.
Dry July is a fundraiser that encourages you to go alcohol-free in July to raise funds for people affected by cancer.
The funds you raise as part of your Dry July will provide invaluable services for cancer patients, their families and carers – whether it’s a lift to a life-saving appointment, guidance from a specialist nurse, connection to an informative voice, access to therapy programs or a bed close to treatment.
You’ll be raising vital funds for people affected by cancer, and you could experience some positive health benefits such as a clearer head, more energy, better sleep, weight loss, healthier skin and a sense of achievement.
Check out the Dry July website to start your fundraiser, donate to an existing fundraiser or learn how your donation can make a difference. There is also a Dry July alcohol calculator where you can find out how much money and calories you could save by going alcohol-free this July. Why not donate your estimated savings to one of the individual, team or organisation fundraisers!
Keep well 😊
